Darren Baroni, M.D. attended Monmouth University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology. He obtained his MD at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Medical School. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. Dr. Baroni's Gastroenterology fellowship was completed at the Walter Reed Medical Center. He served several years as an active-duty Army Physician, eventually achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His assignments have included Chief of Gastroenterology at Tripler Army Medical Center, Teaching Attending at Walter Reed Medical Center, and a deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is board certified in Gastroenterology, and has particular interests in inflammatory bowel disease, treatment of gastroparesis, and eosinophilic esophagitis. In his spare time, he enjoys reading biographies, gourmet cooking, Commanders football, Nationals baseball, Capitals hockey and exploring new tropical locales.
