Nina Phatak, M.D. grew up in Long Island, New York. She attended Columbia University and graduated Cum Laude. She attended University of Rochester School of Medicine where she was elected Alpha Omega Alpha (National Medical Honor Society). Dr. Phatak completed her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where she received full training in liver and digestive disorders. She received the American College of Gastroenterology's Fellow in Training award for her research. After her training, she practiced as a staff physician in the Veteran's Administration hospital in Philadelphia as well as a clinical instructor at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Phatak is board certified in Gastroenterology. Her clinical interests include colon polyps and cancer, gastroenterological bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease and women's issues in gastroenterology.
