Paul Arnold, M.D. graduated from Hampden-Sydney College and then completed postgraduate training in Microbiology and Immunology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Afterwards, he earned his medical degree from VCU's Medical College of Virginia and then went on to complete his training in Internal Medicine at VCU Health System where he received several distinctions including the Intern's Scholar Award, Outstanding Junior Resident, and the Excellence in Teaching Award. He continued his medical training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at VCU Health System, and during this time he was active in clinical research as well medical writing of several book chapters and scientific publications. Currently, his clinical interests include colorectal cancer screening and surveillance, GERD, Barrett's esophagus and therapies, and pancreaticobiliary diseases. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and sons and is active in the soccer community; he also has an appreciation of the outdoors and is an avid skier.
