Dr Tinatin O'Connell

Dr. O'Connell earned her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology and Psychology. She obtained her medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia VCU School of Medicine in Richmond and moved to Boston for internship and residency in internal medicine at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. O'Connell subsequently completed gastroenterology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Division of Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition in Nashville, TN. Upon completing her training at Vanderbilt, she moved back home to Virginia and has been practicing medicine at Gastroenterology Associates, P.C. since 2012. She is board certified in gastroenterology and is a member of several national medical societies. Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer screening, hemorrhoid banding, and women’s issues in gastroenterology. Dr. O’Connell spends free time with her husband and their two young boys. She enjoys reading, traveling, and skiing.
